At the Park

It was a fairly nice day, in the high 40's, so we decided to take Raeann to the park for the first time...well, since she's become a crawler, talker, and walker. She was very interested in the grass.
I don't think she enjoyed the swing too much...I guess she's not quite big enough for it yet.
At the top of the slide!
Going down the smallest slide. We did actually go down the other slides too, including the twirly one. I think she enjoyed that one the most, as it was the only one she even commented on with a slight "ma" when we got to the bottom.

Do you think you can do all that?

Mike and I had three days of conferences after full school days this week and we didn't get home until 7:30 or so, so our sitter, Heather, kept Raeann, gave her dinner and then brought her over to our house and put her to bed. This is the board with the instructions for how to take care of her from 5:30 - 7:00 (or bedtime). Do you think I'm maybe a little paranoid about her routine or what?

Starting to Walk

Raeann started to walk on Sunday. Sorry that the video is sideways. We've been trying to get one of her walking, but it's very difficult when she only takes a few steps at a time. We'll get a better one soon!

The Proof is in the Puddin'

In an earlier post I mentioned Raeann getting in and out of the laundry basket by herself. Here's proof that you can't leave a basket of laundry just sitting around without eventually finding a baby in it. You even get a little dancing and a wave good-bye too - the cherry on top!

Exploring

Raeann has been exploring everything in the house lately. Anything she can take down or get into she will. At the end of the day our house looks like a tornado hit it. Here she is looking at the ceiling fan while making a mess of the stuffed animals.
Destroying a shelf of DVDs - and yes, that is the wooden shelf for the movies behind her. She decided to take that down as well.
In the laundry basket - forget about trying to fold it once she's in it. She gets in and out of it on her own as well.
And under the exersaucer. This new place she enjoys pulling toys in with her.

Running Away

Raeann's personality is a delight to discover. She loves to be chased by her daddy and runs to Mom for refuge. We do this several times a night and it never gets old. Even if she is right by me she will turn toward me as quick as she can manage and grab my lap or shoulders to get away from Mike. But she's not scared, she's just playing along. She loves it!

LOL

We cannot look at Raeann in this hat without cracking up! It is too adorable to not enjoy on her. It's actually the only hat she doesn't hate putting on, and she doesn't even play with the poms at the end of the flaps. The balls of fur are actually coyote fur, and she doesn't even eat them. Double wow! Thank you Kathy Huntley for making this hat for Raeann!
