Beautiful Days

Raeann and Ily (not to mention the rest of us that will remember it) saw some beautiful places this week. We enjoyed the park and took a nice picture by the river.
I love this picture. We are at Trickle Park Reservoir doing a little fishing and exploring.
A little time in Ouray doing some shopping...
And visiting Cascade Falls...
A good picture of Mom and Dad
Another day we visited the Black Canyon; Micah, Susan, and Ily seemed to enjoy it.
The amazing canyon and the river at the bottom.
Looking down...
Another day doing some jeeping over Engineer Pass; Elevation 12,800 feet
A wonderful view from the top
I think Raeann was most happy to get out of the car seat.

I have a cousin!

This is the first time Raeann and Ily have met. Ily loves following Raeann around. I think Raeann is happy she can run away!

A New Game

My parents are out visiting and my dad broke out this new game the first night they were here (and every night after that). It's a pretty cool game. The whole point is to throw the bean bags into the whole on the opposite board. Raeann enjoyed helping them out.
She's got a bean bag and is on the run!
"It goes in this hole, right?"
"I did it!"

New Shed

We had an 8 x 12 shed put in yesterday. Wow, it's so much bigger than you think! We didn't put much in it yet, but give us about 10 more years of life and I think we'll be glad we have it.

Last swing

I moved the swing out of the guest room on it's way to the shed and Raeann decided to take it for a ride. She must've played in it for 20-30 minutes before I decided it was time for her to take a nap. When she got up, ka-boom, it had disappeared! :)

Cowgirl

The last few posts should make Grandpa Knape pretty happy - first the horse, then trick riding, now a cowboy hat. This actually belongs to me, but Raeann found it and wanted to wear it around the house
She sure is photogenic.

Trick Riding

Raeann is becoming more and more adventurous on things. She loves to stand on things like chairs (especially swivel and rocking chairs) and her rocking horse.
This is a new trick! And in her church dress as well!

Pony Ride

Every Thursday night our town closes a large portion of Main Street and has what is called "Main in Motion." There are booths, music, and vendors on the street, along with all the regular businesses having special things. Tonight the Children's Museum had pony rides and Raeann loved her ride. As we stood in line she insistently called the pony a "duck." It took some persuasion to get her off of it, as well.

It's all right

We went to Ridgway Reservoir and park this morning, did a little bit of fishing and spent some time at the beach. Keep in mind that this is not beach sand. It's more like gravel because the reservoir is man-made, so it sticks to everything. Raeann enjoyed getting dirty (oh, she's so NOT her mother's child!) and it's all right.
Smearing the sand on her feet...
Hmm...what to do now...
Spending a little time in the chilly water with Daddy.
And with Mommy - notice the different tactics.
Mike gets all the way in with her and I use the boat so I don't have to get too wet and cold.
We spent about an hour fishing along the reservoir before heading to the beach. Our friend Andrew hangs out quite a bit with us now since he moved out here. It's nice to have a Michigan friend out here now.
