Cascade Falls

We wanted to try out the carry-a-toddler backpack that Amy got us last summer, so we went on a short hike to Cascade Falls in Ouray to see how Raeann would do in it. She didn't complain, and seemed to enjoy being able to see all the sights from Mike's height.

New Hastings Member

Our dear friends, Travis and Claire, welcomed their new little one, Liv Carwen Hastings, to the world on Friday night. She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 21 inches long. The poor thing had to be vacuumed out as she had a 14 inch head and got stuck in the birth canal (that explains the red mark on her forehead). She is a doll, though!
Claire is looking quite beautiful for having a baby only four days ago.
Raeann was extremely fascinated by Liv and wanted to touch her, poke her, rock her, and sit on her! Hmmm, maybe we need to go over baby etiquette.
"Be nice, be nice" were the words I kept saying over and over. Raeann did, however, start to get upset when she thought I had held Liv long enough and it was time for her to get the attention again. That was a cue that it was time to go!

Fun at the Park

We had a beautiful day to go to a great playground in a neighboring subdivision. Raeann had a blast and is getting big enough to do a few more things.

Bubble Machine

Micah and Susan bought Raeann this bubble machine for her first birthday. This is the first time we've had it out. She wasn't so sure about it at first, as it makes a loud motor-like sound, but she did okay with it after a bit.

Rock-a-bye Baby

I taught Raeann how to rock her baby. She immediately transfered that into spinning around with the baby. Well, at least the baby's not upside down...wait a minute. :)

On the road

I was doing everything I could to keep Raeann occupied and happy in the car, including finding her ticklish spots. It was tiring, but we made it. I'm glad we won't be doing it again anytime soon, though!

Home will be boring...

I commented to more than one person that when we got home Raeann was going to be so bored because there's wasn't a ton of people and new experiences around to entertain her. Here's some highlights of the excitement...
Loving on Santana's cat, Ty. I think she missed Tadd a bit.

We did get to take this cute pool home to Colorado. I finally got Raeann to actually get in it here; she wouldn't get in it when we tried it at my parent's house.
She loves the dirt!
Raeann loved this wagon so much, Dad bought us one for our house. They'll be bringing it out in July when they visit.
Elena loved riding in the wagon too!

Sorry the video is sideways (we're not very good at remembering that, are we?). Raeann loved this spring horse and knew exactly how to make it go. Luckily we didn't have to cart this back to CO.
