Pony Ride

Every Thursday night our town closes a large portion of Main Street and has what is called "Main in Motion." There are booths, music, and vendors on the street, along with all the regular businesses having special things. Tonight the Children's Museum had pony rides and Raeann loved her ride. As we stood in line she insistently called the pony a "duck." It took some persuasion to get her off of it, as well.

It's all right

We went to Ridgway Reservoir and park this morning, did a little bit of fishing and spent some time at the beach. Keep in mind that this is not beach sand. It's more like gravel because the reservoir is man-made, so it sticks to everything. Raeann enjoyed getting dirty (oh, she's so NOT her mother's child!) and it's all right.
Smearing the sand on her feet...
Hmm...what to do now...
Spending a little time in the chilly water with Daddy.
And with Mommy - notice the different tactics.
Mike gets all the way in with her and I use the boat so I don't have to get too wet and cold.
We spent about an hour fishing along the reservoir before heading to the beach. Our friend Andrew hangs out quite a bit with us now since he moved out here. It's nice to have a Michigan friend out here now.

Molars and Popsicles

Raeann has been getting three molars and my question is, "How come nobody told us about the agony of getting teeth?" It has not been fun, let me tell you. It has gone from extreme fussiness to vomiting and diarrhea and lots of orajel. The doctor told us to give Raeann popsicles to make her gums cold and give her a little extra fluid. How many molars are there again?

Daddy + Park = Nap

This summer has been incredible so far with the things we've been able to do with Raeann, compared to last summer when we couldn't hardly take her outside. She is having a great time at all the places she gets to play and loves being a "big girl." It also wears her out so she takes a good nap in the afternoon, which is nice for all of us.

Pretty Girl

My mom bought this dress for Raeann. I couldn't believe how grown-up she looked when she had it on. It was perfect for church yesterday morning.

Care for a swim?

We finally got Raeann to the Aquatic Center here in Montrose. I could not believe how many people were there, but I guess there really is no other place to go that's closer than 20 miles. Raeann continues to shock me at how she is not afraid of the things I think she would be. She loved riding in the cool boat we got her and did not even fuss about being splashed in the face accidentally by the other kids.

She got tired of the boat after awhile and wanted out. She enjoyed being held and played with in the water, but she got wiggly after a bit. I think she wanted to be let go of - the stuff a mother's nightmares are made of.

The Center also had this great splash pad with lots of fountains and sprinklers. She did not even care that the water hit her in the face several times.

This might be why her diaper was so water-logged by the time we left.

Mike and I could not resist taking a trip down the quite-large water slide. I have to admit, it made me want to be a kid again!

Happy 5th Anniversary!

These are the flowers Mike got me for our 5th anniversary! Can you believe we've been married 5 years already?
